MEN'S PROBUS CLUB of BOORAGOON
The Men's Probus Club of Booragoon is a friendly group of retired "PROfessional/BUSiness" men who meet for social purposes and intellectual stimulation.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 9.30am
These monthly meetings commence with a 30 to 45 minutes business session, followed by 30 minutes morning tea and fellowship, and a further 45 minutes devoted to excellent guest speakers who speak on a wide variety of interesting subjects.
Outings, in which members' partners participate, are organised regularly.
Examples of recent events can be seen on the "Outings Page"
In addition to regular outings, we have informal monthly "Coffee and Chat" gatherings at a local cafe for fellowship, jokes and yarns. We also have several card groups of 6 couples who meet at members homes once a month to enjoy a fun game we call "American Canasta". Some groups meet on an afternoon and others in the evening and there is considerable rotation of players between groups. The ladies are always keen to participate as our rules stipulate that only water is served during play and supper (or afternoon tea) must only consist of tea, coffee and biscuits. These card groups have been popular for some years and foster social interaction between members and their wives.
Guests at our main monthly meetings are most welcome on an invitation basis. Please contact the Secretary if interested.
Membership of Probus Clubs is open to retired and semi-retired professional and business people and others who have held positions of responsibility in any worthy vocation and who appreciate and value opportunities for social contact with others in similar circumstances.
